CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CSA+)


CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CSA+) is an international, vendor-neutral cybersecurity certification that applies behavioral analytics to improve the overall state of IT security.  CSA+ validates critical knowledge and skills that are required to prevent, detect, and combat cybersecurity threats.

Courses are face-to-face, and attendance is required.

This is the fourth non-credit course in the free intensive cybersecurity training course series for qualified applicants.

  • CompTIA Security+

Qualified applicants receive free training that includes learning materials, hand-on labs, and exam vouchers for CSA+ and Network+.

Veterans, underrepresented groups, and career changers are encouraged to apply.

Training is provided through funding made available from the National Security Agency (NSA) (Grant#: H98230-17-1-0329), the National Science Foundation (NSF) (Grant#: 1539715), Minnesota State IT Center of Excellence, and MnCyber.

This non-credit course will prepare you to take the CompTIA exam to earn the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst Certification.  This is a vendor-neutral and globally recognized industry certification.

CompTIA CSA+ is ISO/ANSI 17024 accredited.

Although the exam is not part of the course; participants will receive an exam voucher that can be used to register with CompTIA at no cost.

Metropolitan State University is a CompTIA Academy Partner.

The target spplicant is someone has CompTIA Security+ certification, has completed CompTIA Security+ training or has equivalent work or life skills.

For the free intensive cybersecurity training course series, applicants should be a veteran, from an underrepresented group, or career changers.

Gain the skills and knowledge to:

  1. Configure and use threat detection tools
  2. Perform data analysis
  3. Interpret results to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to an organization.
  1. Participants must have a one of the following:
    • A CompTIA Security+ certification or
    • Taken the CompTIA Security+ course
    • A CISSP certificate or
    • Pass the sample CompTIA Network+ test – attend the required information session to register for this sample test.
  1. To be admitted to the cybersecurity training program, participants must attend a required informational session.

Spring Weeknight Track Option:

  • A required exam prep and career coaching session on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

All classes will be held at the Science Education Center (SEC) building in room 121.
